Description

The Gobbler Amateur is a nationally recognized World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event held annually in late November at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. The tournament features a 54-hole stroke play format with no cut, weather permitting, and typically attracts a strong field of top amateur golfers including NCAA Division I players and leading mid-amateurs. Entry requires a handicap index of 3.0 or better, with exemptions available to those ranked within the top 1000 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings or Golfweek Amateur Rankings, state amateur champions, and participants from prestigious USGA events. Practice rounds are offered prior to competition, and the event includes amenities such as boxed lunches for players. For more information, visit the official tournament site through Golf Genius or contact Sewailo Golf Club at (520) 838-6623. Entry deadlines and detailed criteria are published on the tournament site, which is open for registration to qualified players starting August 1 for membership tiers and August 31 for all entrants.
