Description

The Gerald Micklem Cup is a prestigious men’s amateur golf tournament held annually at Sunningdale Golf Club in England. It is an over-35 scratch open event that was inaugurated in 1998 to honor Gerald Micklem, a former captain of Sunningdale and a distinguished figure in British amateur golf. The tournament is played over 54 holes of scratch medal stroke play, with competitors playing 36 holes initially and the top 20 (plus ties) advancing to a final 18-hole round. This event attracts elite mid-amateur golfers and is a key qualification event for the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Qualification is based on handicap and entry restrictions, with players registering through the club or associated governing bodies.
