Georgia PGA Junior Championship
About
The Georgia PGA Junior Championship is organized by the Georgia Section of the PGA and serves as the primary qualifying event for junior players in the state wishing to earn a spot in the national Junior PGA Championship. The event features boys and girls competing in age divisions (11-13, 14-15, 16-18 for boys; 11-18 for girls), with most divisions playing 36 or 54 holes of stroke play depending on age, and the Boys 11-13 division playing shorter tees and only 36 holes. The field typically features about 100–150 of Georgia’s top junior players, with entry open to residents within the Georgia Section and registration available through the Georgia PGA website. The overall champions (Boys and Girls 16-18) earn the right to represent the Georgia Section in the national Junior PGA Championship, with additional invitations possible based on performance. The Boys and Girls Overall Champions are also awarded starts in the Georgia Open and Georgia Women’s Open, respectively. There are no pre-qualifying tournaments, but players must register and meet residency requirements.
