Description

The Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship, first held in 1982, is the leading mid-amateur golf championship in the state and is organized each year by the Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA). This 54-hole stroke play event takes place over three days, features a field of approximately 144 male amateurs age 25 and older, and rotates among some of Georgia’s premier golf courses. Entry is open to residents with GSGA membership, with most of the field determined via sectional qualifying and select exemptions. For further details, contact the GSGA, headed by Executive Director Matt Vanderpool, through their website gsga.org, email info@gsga.org, or phone (770) 955-4272. The championship showcases Georgia’s best mid-amateur talent each spring and remains a cornerstone for non-collegiate amateurs in the region.
