Estonian Match Play
About
The Estonian Match Play Championship is a prominent amateur golf tournament held annually in Estonia, organized by the Estonian Golf Association. Unlike stroke play, this competition follows the match play format, where golfers compete head-to-head in individual matches over 18 holes, advancing through knockout rounds until a champion is crowned. The event typically attracts the top amateur golfers from Estonia, as well as notable international players, competing on challenging courses such as the Estonian Golf & Country Club's Sea Course or similar venues. The championship plays a key role in the Estonian amateur golf scene, offering a different competitive challenge compared to stroke play tournaments and helping to identify match play specialists for international team events.
