Connecticut Open
About
The Connecticut Open is an annual golf championship conducted by the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA). It has been played since 1931 at various courses around Connecticut and was considered a PGA Tour event in the 1930s. The tournament features a 54-hole stroke play format held over three days, with the field consisting of 156 players. Of these, 96 gain entry through six 18-hole qualifying tournaments, and the remaining 58 players are exempt based on criteria set by the CSGA's competition committee. Professionals compete for a $50,000 purse, with the winner receiving $12,500. The event is known for its competitive field, which includes both top amateurs and professionals from the region
