Chick Evans Junior Amateur

The Chick Evans Junior Amateur is a national junior golf championship featuring both stroke play and match play formats. The event begins with 36 holes of individual stroke play over two days (usually Monday and Tuesday) to qualify players for match play. The top 32 boys and 16 girls after stroke play advance to match play rounds, with boys playing up to five rounds and girls up to four rounds of match play to determine the champion. Ties for the last qualifying spots are settled with an on-course playoff after the stroke play. The tournament typically attracts around 150+ competitors and is recognized for its competitive format blending stroke play qualification with knockout match play to crown the champions. The event is organized by the Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA) and is held annually at Itasca Country Club in Illinois.
