Central Plains Invitational

The 2025 Central Plains Invitational was held on September 22-23 at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas. This collegiate golf tournament featured men’s and women’s teams from various colleges competing in stroke play over the two days. Men’s Tournament Highlights: Team Champion: Columbia (Mo.) with a total score of 866. Individual Winner: Jackson Malone from Kansas Wesleyan, with a score of 206 (10-under par), claiming his third career victory. Other Top Teams: Baker University finished second with 873, and Evangel University was fourth with 883. Notable Performances: Hesston College set a tournament record for lowest round vs. par in the second round, shooting a 54-hole total of 898 (+34). Kansas Wesleyan finished third overall, with Malone's impressive score leading individual performances. Women’s Tournament Highlights: Team Finish: Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf finished fourth out of seven teams. Individual Leader: Ellie Soderholm from Columbia College led for the women, with a total score of 156. The event attracted multiple colleges from Kansas and nearby states, showcasing a competitive field with record-breaking performances.
