Description

The CDGA Mid-Amateur Championship is organized by the Chicago District Golf Association and is open to CDGA members aged 25 and older with a Handicap Index not exceeding 7.4. The tournament features an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round to determine the low 16 players who advance to match play. The match play bracket is conducted over the following two days, with players competing head-to-head in knockout-style matches until a champion is crowned. The event typically sees about 81 of the Chicago District’s best amateur golfers competing. Eligibility is based on CDGA membership, age, and handicap criteria. This format, introduced in 2015, combines stroke play and match play to test different aspects of competitive golf.
