Description

The Carroll Amateur is a well-regarded amateur men’s tournament held annually at Carroll National Golf Club, in Carroll, Iowa. The format is 54 holes of stroke play, with multiple flights (including an Open flight and a Senior division) allowing a wide spectrum of amateurs to compete. The event is typically held over two to three days (for example June 7-8, 2025). To qualify, players must register via the IGA’s online application system (entries open in early March, with a deadline early June for the 2025 edition) and meet the amateur status and handicap index eligibility as defined by the IGA. The tournament draws a robust regional field of Iowa-based amateurs and guests, with strong competitive results (e.g., a 2025 playoff victory at −8 under par).
