Description

The Capital Region Amateur Championship is an annual event played in New York’s Capital Region, typically over 54 holes of stroke play (three rounds) and often includes a cut after the second round for the low competitors. The event is open to amateur men who are members in good standing of the NYSGA (or an affiliated local club) and meet any active Handicap Index or age criteria detailed in the event regulations. Field sizes have varied—in its recent editions the tournament has featured around sixty or more competitors. Exemptions are often given to top-finishers in related NYSGA events, and others enter through open registration during the published entry window.
