Description

The California Senior Amateur Championship is the flagship senior-state amateur event played across the state of California, open to male amateur golfers aged 55 or older. The format is 54 holes of stroke play (three rounds) contested at a rotating championship venue; historically, the event has shifted between Northern and Southern California venues. Eligibility typically requires a valid Handicap Index® at or below 7.4 at the time of registration, and competitors must meet the age minimum by the opening day. Competitors generally must be members of a club affiliated with either the NCGA or the SCGA, register during the published window, and qualify via entry or sectional qualifying depending on the year.
