Description

The Babygrande D.C. Classic is a 54-hole stroke play tournament held at East Potomac Golf Links – Blue Course in Washington, D.C. The event features a field size of 78 boys and girls aged 12 to 19, with no cut. The course plays to a par 72, approximately 6,599 yards for boys and 5,813 yards for girls, with slope ratings of 112 for boys and 126 for girls. Entry into the tournament requires boys to have an initial status of 24 AJGA Performance Stars or more, with some gaining entry through Performance-Based Entry (PBE) tiebreakers. Girls usually need 44 or more AJGA Performance Stars to initially qualify. There is also a qualifier tournament held prior to the event, an 18-hole stroke play competition offering spots for both boys and girls to enter the championship field. Players must register through the AJGA Player Center. The tournament is known for a competitive field representing multiple states and countries, including past AJGA champions and college commits.
