Description

The Babygrande Atlanta Classic honoring Gene Siller is a 54-hole stroke play AJGA tournament generally held at West Pines Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The field typically includes a competitive group of boys and girls ages 12 to 19. Entry into this tournament requires boys to have an initial AJGA Performance Star status of 30 or more to gain entry, with some players admitted via Performance-Based Entry (PBE) tiebreakers for those slightly below that threshold. Girls usually require 42 or more Performance Stars with similar PBE exceptions. Additional spots in the tournament field are available through an AJGA qualifier event, which is an 18-hole stroke play competition held shortly before the main event. The qualifier generally fills 6 boy and 3 girl spots for the championship. Players must confirm participation via the AJGA Player Center. In cases of withdrawals, alternate players are selected based on qualifying scores and various tiebreak procedures. Push carts are allowed as per host facility rules. This tournament attracts a strong field of junior golfers from multiple states and countries, including past AJGA champions and college commits.
