Description

The Austrian International Amateur Championship is organized by the Austrian Golf Association. The event is played over four rounds of stroke play, typically held over four days, including a training day followed by three competitive rounds, with a cut after the second round. The field usually consists of about 141 amateur golfers, split between men and women, typically around 105 men and 36 women, plus about 15 wild cards granted by the Championship Committee. Players qualify by having a maximum handicap index of 5.0 for men and 7.0 for women, and must be members of clubs affiliated with the Austrian Golf Association or a recognized foreign golf association. Wild cards may be granted with handicaps up to 8.0 for men and 10.0 for women at the discretion of the Championship Committee. The format is strictly stroke play according to the rules of golf, following the R&A regulations.
