Description

The ARCIS HBCU Championship Division I is a prominent golf tournament for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), held annually at The Club at Weston Hills in Weston, Florida. The 2025 event was conducted February 22-24 on The Players Course, a challenging course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The tournament included 17 men's and women's teams from various HBCUs competing in a 45-hole stroke play format, shortened from the planned 54 holes due to weather. The Florida A&M University men's team successfully defended their Division I title, winning by a commanding 42 strokes, while Howard University repeated as women's champions. The competition featured top collegiate athletes, providing a platform for high-level collegiate golf within the HBCU community. The event also included community engagement activities such as a "Club-in-Hand" clinic with local youth golf programs and a lively alumni and celebrity challenge. Entry Process: The ARCIS HBCU Championship is an invitation-only event with schools selected to participate based on their program's standing and reputation. Player invitations are managed by the respective HBCU athletic programs and the tournament organizers. Entry for general players is not open, but schools interested in participating typically coordinate directly with Arcis Golf and the organizing committee.
