The Alton Illinois Junior Championship presented by UHY is a 54-hole stroke play tournament held at Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course in Alton, Illinois. The event features a field size of 96 boys and girls ages 12 to 19. After the second round, the field is cut to a minimum of 60% of players in each division. Entry into the tournament requires boys to have an initial status of 13 AJGA Performance Stars or more to gain entry, with some players gaining entry via Performance-Based Entry tiebreakers. Girls need a minimum of 8 Performance Stars for initial entry. There is also an AJGA qualifier held prior to the main event, an 18-hole stroke play tournament that offers 7 spots for boys and 2 spots for girls to gain entry into the championship field. Players must confirm participation through the AJGA Player Center. The course plays to a slope rating of 139 and a course rating of 73.8 for boys, and 133 slope and 74.9 rating for girls. The tournament fee is $295. The championship attracts a strong field of junior golfers from various states and countries, including past AJGA champions and college commits.
