Description

The AJGA Salt Lake Junior is a 54-hole stroke play event held annually at Glenmoor Golf Club in South Jordan, Utah. The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 12–19 and features a starting field of 96 players. After the second round, the field is cut, typically reducing the number of players by approximately half for the final round. To gain entry, boys needed a minimum of 18 AJGA Performance Stars, with some gaining entry at 16 Stars through PBE tiebreaker, while girls required at least 20 Performance Stars. Players confirm participation in the AJGA Player Center. The tournament also offers a qualifier—a separate 18-hole stroke play tournament—held prior to the main event, where 6 boys and 2 girls can earn a spot in the championship field. Non-AJGA members who qualify must complete registration and payment online prior to tournament play. This event attracts juniors from across the country, including top regional and national players, past AJGA champions, and college commits. The competitive atmosphere, cut after 36 holes, and entry requirements provide a robust field and challenging format for participants.
