The Abierto Sudamericano Amateur, also known as the Latin America Amateur Championship, is an elite annual amateur golf tournament established by The Masters Tournament, The R&A, and the USGA to promote amateur golf development across South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The 2025 championship will be held from January 9 to 12 at Club de Golf Sport Francés in Santiago, Chile. The tournament consists of 72 holes of stroke play over four days and typically features a field of around 80 male and 52 female competitors from about 19 countries including Europe and North America. The field qualifies primarily through national golf federations and rankings. The champion receives invitations to the Masters Tournament, The Open Championship, and the U.S. Open, marking it as a pivotal event for advancing amateur talent in the region.
