Description

The Abierto Los Leones is a highly prestigious annual golf tournament held at the Club de Golf Los Leones in Santiago, Chile. Established in 1910, the tournament is one of the oldest and most traditional golf events in Chile. The format is stroke play contested over 54 holes with a cut after 36 holes. It attracts a competitive field of more than 100 golfers, including top Chilean players and prominent South American professionals and amateurs. The event is part of the Official National Ranking (RNO) and the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), underscoring its high competitive standard. Sponsored by Banchile Inversiones, the tournament not only showcases elite golf talent but also celebrates the historic significance of the golf course, which was originally inaugurated in 1937 and has recently undergone redesigns.
