Description

The Abierto de Colombia (Colombian Open) is organized by the Colombian Golf Federation and is one of the oldest golf tournaments in South America, first played in 1945. The championship is part of the PGA Tour Latinoamérica and the Colombian Tour, most commonly held at Club Campestre de Medellín or Club Campestre Guaymaral in Bogotá. It features a field of over 100 professionals and top amateurs, with the format being four rounds of 18-hole stroke play over four days. Qualification for amateurs is typically by national ranking or through local qualifying tournaments, while professionals qualify via PGA Tour Latinoamérica criteria. The event is recognized for its competitive depth, historic standing, and significant prize purse—making it a major stop for professional and amateur talent in the region
